DARROW, MARJORIE B.
WAUPACA, WI Age 86 – died on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on July 7, 1921 in Scandinavia, WI, a daughter of the late Frank Nelsen and Johanne (Hansen) Rasmussen. She married Leland W. Darrow on April 22, 1939 in Parfreyville, WI. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1998. Marjorie is survived by her sons: Gerald Darrow of Waupaca, Gale Darrow of Rockford, IL, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a half-brother: Fred Rasmussen of Waupaca, and a very special friend: Katheryn Anderson of Waupaca. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leland, a grandson: Elias R. Darrow, her father: Frank Nelsen, her mother and step-father: Johanne and Fred Rasmussen, Sr., two sisters: Vera Gould and Viola Jensen, and a brother: Harley Nelsen. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waupaca. She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She was a charter member of the 1st Red Hat Society of Waupaca. She had also been active with the Waupaca Chapter of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the King Chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary. A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and can be directed to the Waupaca Learning Center Library Fund in memory of Marjorie Darrow. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
