Marjorie Wilda's Obituary
Marjorie D. Wilda, age 89, of Wild Rose, WI, passed away Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital. She was born in Racine, WI on December 11, 1918, the daughter of Ralph A. and Lillian M. (Petersen) Grant. Marjorie attended Rapids School Grade School, Washington Jr. High School and Horlick High School in Racine. She married John Wilda on April 10, 1943 in Racine. Marjorie was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Racine Drum and Bugle Corp. She was a member of the Red Cross Gray Lady Association during WWII. Marjoire was also very active in sports and outdoor activities including skating, swimming, volley ball, and baseball. She always had a huge garden from which she shared its bounty with her neighbors and friends. Marjorie moved with her husband to Wild Rose in 1980. Marjoire was very active with the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary where she served as the treasurer for many years. She joined the St. Agnes Hospice Hope in 1987. Marjorie also worked for Bruce Bieri Auction in Wild Rose as his cashier for over ten years. She is survived by Husband John Wilda, Wild Rose, WI; Son: John (Val) Wilda, Racine, WI; Grandson: Josh Wilda, Kent Wood, MI; Brothers: Charles (Jeanne) Grant, Racine, WI; Ralph (Karen) Grant, Arizona; Sisters: Gerrie Pie, Racine, WI; Shirley (George) Povkovich, Racine, WI; Lorrie Hayek, Missouri. She is further survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; Brothers: Lee, Jimmy and Gerald Grant and a sister, Betty Harrison. A Private Family Graveside Interment of cremains will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Racine, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose assisted the family with arrangements. A memorial has been established to the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary. The family would like to thank all the angels at Wild Rose Hospital for all of their special care and attention.
