Marleen M. Volz's Obituary
Marleen M. Volz, age 82 of Scandinavia, WI died at Theda Care Appleton on August 5th, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1942 in Fond du Lac WI, the daughter of Gustav and Elfrieda Wentland Herre.
On November 2, 1963, Marleen married Jeffery R. Volz at St. Peter's Eve Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Marleen was a graduate of Goodrich High School, class of 1959. She worked at AC Nielsen Co. from 1959-1965. Then was a stay-at-home mom for many years. In 1986, Marleen returned to the work force and was employed by the Arc of Fond du Lac until 1999- She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of WI in 2002. Marleen enjoyed reading water aerobics, movies, concerts, needlework and living in the country after retirement. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marleen was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI.
She is survived by a daughter, Annette (Peter) Lionberger of Janesville, WI and their children Rachael Kersten (Kenny) and Emma; a son Greg (Karen) Volz of Menomonee Falls, WI and their children Drake and Karly; a brother-in-law, Gary Volz of Lakefield, MN; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends Gene and Camille Nowakowski and Linda Johnson, her fellow travelers/adventurers and Friday night fish fry buddies. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Jeffery in 2009, a brother Donald Herre, a sister-in-Jaw Judy Herre, and a sister-in-law Renate Volz.
Friends may call at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca from 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 PM. Pastor Ron Siemers officiating. Private committal service will be held at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
