Marlin J. Worm's Obituary
Marlin Jack Worm, age 87, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born November 8, 1936 in New London, WI; son of Carl and Naomi (Sommers) Worm. He served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1953 until he was honorably discharged in 1955. Marly was a member of Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London. He was united in marriage to Sandra J. Besaw on June 7, 1958 and they celebrated 65 happy years together this year. Marly loved to hunt, fish, and play cards. He worked at Bordon/Saputo in New London for 51 years, retiring in 2006. Marly and Sandy were blessed through the years with three children. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Marly is survived by his wife: Sandy Worm; two children: Cathy (John) Longtin and their daughters Amy and Aleja, his son Dale; Thomas (Michelle) Worm and her children Ashley (Evan) Walters and her son Nolan Walters, and Jacob Kiesow; and niece and nephews: Mark Worm, Glen Worm, Gary Worm, Sheryl Gau, and Chuck Worm; Sandy’s siblings: Jim (Sandy) Besaw, Jerry (Sue) Besaw, Jean (Cindy) Besaw, Christine (Bob) Rieckman, Lee (Sue) Besaw, Greg (Sue) Besaw, Jeff (Cathy) Besaw, and Fran (Rich) Engle; and also by Sandy’s 40 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Naomi Worm; parents-in-law Ed and Myrna Besaw; a son David Worm; two brothers Ed (Karen) Worm and Roger (Myrtle) Worm; two nephews Kenneth Worm and Gerald Worm; three brothers-in-law Jerome Besaw, John Besaw, and Joe Besaw; and four sisters-in-law Joyce Besaw, Helen Besaw, Carol Besaw, and Joan Besaw.
A Remembrance Gathering will be on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the American Legion Club House, 840 E. North Water Street, New London, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
