Martin A. Krause's Obituary
Martin A. (Mike) Krause, age 98, of Almond, WI passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Iola Living Assistance. Mike was born in the Town of Almond, Portage County on August 18, 1913, the son of the late Louie and Matilda (Schulke) Krause. On October 27, 1945 Martin married Elaine Rusch at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Mike farmed in the Town of Almond and also worked at Pagel Construction in Almond, Wagner Cheese Co. in Weyauwega and Hanes Feed Mill in Amherst Jct. He enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He is a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst. He is survived by his wife: Elaine Krause, Iola; his children: Nila (Pat) Peskie, Amherst; Vera (Allen) Erdmann, Plainfield and Roy (Pam) Krause, Almond; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Nicholas Peskie and 3 sisters, Velda Webster, Ester Lueck and Freida Christensen. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 14 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Amherst with Rev. Mark Moldenhauer & Rev. John Schmidt, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Amherst. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
