MARY M. DEMPSEY
WAUAPCA, WI (FORMERLY OF WEST BEND, WI) Age 75 – died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. She was born on December 8, 1931 in Barton, Washington County, WI, a daughter of the late Loyal and Hildegard (Otten) Moran. She married Terrence Dempsey on May 1, 1954 in Barton, WI. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2004. Mary is survived by a son: Michael (Susan) Dempsey of Santa Maria, CA, and their son: Paul Webster, five daughters: Kathy (Glenn) Doman of West Bend, WI, and their children: Matt, Heidi (Kent) Kilbourn, Peter, and Katherine, Maureen (George) Jorgensen of Manawa, WI, and their children: Jackie (Brian) Tucker, GW, Roz, Gennie, and Frank, Ann (Randy) Johnson of Vandalia, MI, and their children: JR (Tonya), Julie (Jeff) Folsom, Michael (Shelly), Nathan (Danielle), Patricia “Patti” (Michael) Dempsey-Paul of West Bend, WI, and their children: AJ, Rachel, Laura, and Joseph, and Margaret “Peggy” (Pat) Hagen of Rhinelander, WI, and their children: Heather (Andy) Taylor, Jennifer, and Andy. Ten great grandchildren also survive along with three sisters: Bernadine (Herb) Brace, Kathy Vetter, and Nancy Olson, all of West Bend, WI. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Terrence, her parents, and two brothers: Eugene Moran and Jerry Moran. Mary had lived in the West Bend area for most of her life. She earned her nursing degree from the Milwaukee County School of Nursing. She had been employed as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend for 40 years. She had been a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend for many years. She had done volunteer work for the Food Pantry in West Bend. She had also volunteered time in the reading program at the Barton Elementary School. While living in the Waupaca, WI area she was a member of the Shepherd of The Lakes Church. A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd of The Lakes Church in Waupaca, WI on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 3:00 PM, with the Reverend Dean Wheeler, officiating. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Friends may call at the Shepherd of The Lakes Church on Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Mary M. Dempsey. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
