Mary E. Peskie's Obituary
Mary E. Peskie, age 89, of Waupaca Formerly of Amherst passed away on Thursday, February 3rd, 2005 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. She was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on August 15, 1915; the daughter of the late John M. and Mary (May) Haen. On May 30, 1942, Mary married Gerald Gib Peskie at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the Town of Lanark. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1995. Mary as a young woman, liked to go to dances with her friends in Sturgeon Bay. Mary and Gib had a dairy farm in the town of Lanark. She had worked at a tie factory in Chicago, IL, the Alpine Resort in Door County and at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, quilting, and doing all kinds of hand work. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially watching them play baseball. She was involved in many groups at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the Town of Lanark, Portage County Homemakers and the Auxiliary at Riverside Medical Center. She is survived by her children: Gerald Jerry (Lola) Peskie, Waupaca, Wisconsin; Patrick (Nila) Peskie, Amherst, Wisconsin; Susan (Norm) Groshek, Amherst Jct., Wisconsin; Joseph (Jan) Peskie, Fremont, Wisconsin; John (Fiance' Lei Turnmeyer) Peskie, Amherst, Wisconsin; Lisa (Wayne) Engle, Amherst, Wisconsin; 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
