Age 56 – died on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on February 3, 1953 in Waupaca, WI, the daughter of Ervin and Florence (Durrant) Nicolaisen.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter; Heather (Perry) Smith of Waupaca, four granddaughters; Brittany, Jenna, Morgan, and Haleigh, sisters; Sue Townsend of Menasha and Cindy (Glenn) Dalton of Waupaca, and sisters-in-law; Linda (Donald) Dreier and Vivian Falk, both of New London. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ervin and Florence Nicolaisen, and her step-mother; Ellen Nicolaisen.
Mary Jane was a 1971 graduate of Waupaca High School. She had been employed with the housekeeping department at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca for many years. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, the monthly meetings with her high school classmates for the “Book Club”, and spending time with her cats.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Nate Liedtke, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
