I am so sorry for your loss. Jane was my mother’s dear friend. She was a dedicated, loyal friend and brought laughter and good sense to my mother. Jane was so witty and frank and smart and also had a good heart. Not to mention her baking!
Here is a story I think is cute. We lived in Louisiana for 4 years, and one summer when we were visiting my parents, my mother, my two children and I visited Jane. She took us out on her pontoon boat. She let my 6-year-old son drive a little and I think he partially ran us aground or at least into some weeds. Jane just smiled and got us out of the fix. She was tickled that our kids called her “Miss Jane.”
