MARY MYRA KRAUSE
AMHERST, WISCONSIN Mary at 106 young years was peacefully taken by the Lord on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca, WI. She was born the second child of nine children to George and Mary (Hopkins) Corrigan on April 14, 1903 in the Town of Buena Vista, Portage Co., WI. She was a lifetime member and the oldest member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in the Town of Buena Vista.
Mary married Walter Ludwig Krause on November 1, 1952 in Stevens Point, WI. She spent her entire married life on the farm in Almond with her husband, Walter, and brother-in-law, Orville “Pete” Krause. After Walter passed away on September 9, 1988, Mary spent her remaining years with her youngest sister, Bernice Berto-Butler in Amherst. Mary is survived by:

Also survived by many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Corrigan; her husband, Walter Krause; three brothers, Walter, Lawrence, and James Corrigan; four sisters, Sarah Corrigan, Theresa “Tessie” Helbach, Gwendolyn Talik, and Gertrude Kuhrt; three nephews, Walter Helbach, Edward Joe Helbach, and James Berto; and two nieces, Ruth Berto and Doris Jacob. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 State Hwy 54, between Waupaca and Plover in the Town of Buena Vista, WI. Father Daniel Farley will preside. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, April 6, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Lanark following the mass on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Mary M. Krause to the St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church Building Fund.
