Mary Lou Knapwurst's Obituary
Mary Lou Knapwurst, age 83 of Wild Rose, WI passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021 surrounded by her family at Advent Health Hospital in Zephyrhills, FL after a four-year battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1937 in Berlin, WI the daughter of Donald and Olive (Backes) Covill.
Mary Lou was raised in Berlin where she attended and graduated from high school. She moved to Milwaukee and worked at Wisconsin Bell. She married Adair “Snap” Knapwurst on May 5, 1962. She briefly worked at Shelmet in Wild Rose before working at the Wild Rose Clinic in the business office. She retired in 1996 after 22 years of service. She loved watching the Packers, quilting, needle crafts, bowling, NASCAR and Badger sports.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 58 years; two daughters, Jean Ross of Wilmington, DE, Joan (Mark) Fiene of Rio, WI and sister-in-law, Laura Frye. She is preceded in death by her son, Thomas; her parents; two brothers, Donald and Dennis Covill; sister Ann Trimboli; mother-in-law, Vera (Thomas) Knapwurst; father-in-law, Arthur Knapwurst; sister-in-law, Mildred (Carroll) Covill; brothers-in-law, Daniel Trimboli and Lowell Knapwurst.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 19th at Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at Holly’s. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery. Online condolences available at www.hollyfuneralhome.com
