Mary J. Prill's Obituary
Mary J. Prill, age 88, of Berlin, WI, formerly of Wild Rose, passed away on Monday morning, March 2, 2020 at Patriot Place in Berlin. She was born January 28, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI; daughter of John A. and Martha (Szymczak) Burneske. On February 2, 1951, Mary married Lawrence M. Standke in Milwaukee. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee and for the electric company. They lived in Milwaukee for 20 years before moving to the Wild Rose area in 1970. Mary continued working in the nursing field as an aide for the Wild Rose Hospital until her retirement in 1989. Mary and Lawrence shared 37 years of marriage before his passing on September 3, 1988. On September 30, 1989, she married Walter W. Prill in the Town of Lind, Waupaca Co, WI and together they shared 13 years of marriage before his passing on November 21, 2002. Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville for many years where she was active in quilting and cooking for the ladies aid. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her three children, Max (Carol) Standke of Kewaskum, WI, Patricia (Steve) Sorenson of Redgranite, WI, and Martin (Lorraine) Standke of Noblesville, IN; six grandchildren, Mark Standke of West Bend, Joann (Ben) Jensen of Sheboygan, Marcia (Tony) O’Kon of Pine River, Amy (Eric) Smith of Fremont, Matt Standke of Mayville, and Zack Standke of Mayville; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick Burneske of Milwaukee; dear friends, Barb and Russ Castner of Wild Rose; and also by many nieces, nephews, step-children, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Burneske; her first husband, Lawrence Standke; her second husband, Walter Prill; and a brother, Charles Burneske.
A Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI. Reverend Rick Engen will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Neshkoro, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
