Mary D. Raatz's Obituary
Mary D. Raatz, age 100, formerly of Almond passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the home of her daughter & son-in-law in Germantown, WI. Mary was born in Plainfield on March 18, 1917, the daughter of the late Frank and Tillie (Dombrowski) Jazdzewski. On November 9, 1946, Mary married Hugo Raatz in Wautoma. Mary worked as a custodian at the Portage County Bank and the Almond-Bancroft Schools until retiring. She loved nature and making people laugh. She had a green thumb and she enjoyed working with a plastic canvas. Mary is survived by her children: Henry (Sue Alft) Raatz, Wisconsin Rapids; Beverly (Jack) Kaiser, Germantown and Albert (Kathy) Raatz, Waupaca. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws, Tootie Weishaar, Ripon and Mary Jazdzewski, Oshkosh and other family & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo on January 20, 1976 and all of her siblings. Mary was the 7th of 12 children. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, Plainfield, WI with Father Andrew Kurz, presiding. Burial will be in the Almond Village Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at the church.
