Maxine Johnson's Obituary
Maxine Johnson passed away Tuesday, September 11, at the age of 89. Beloved wife for 62 years to the late attorney Richard Johnson, devoted mother to sons Richard, James, and Stephen (Carole) and daughters Nancy (Tony) and Susan (Keith) and proud grandmother of Kristin (Patrick), Anthony, Erika, Caitlin, Michael, David, and Jennie and great grandmother of Kenden and aunt to Barbara and Betsey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, granddaughter Michelle, and sister-in-law, Jane. Maxine was a life long resident of Waupaca. She was a strong supporter of the Episcopal Church, Riverside Hospital, University of Wisconsin, and numerous charitable organizations. She loved painting, ceramics, golf, curling, was an avid reader, a devoted Packer and Badger fan, as well as an excellent cook and homemaker. Maxine was first and foremost devoted to her family where her first priority was everyone’s welfare. She was an unforgettable presence in the lives of all she touched. She was a loving, warm and optimistic person who enjoyed all the days of a long and positive life. Special thanks to her loving caregivers who added much to her last years. Visitation will be held at Holly’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services at Holly’s on Saturday, September 15 at 3:30PM. Private entombment at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Maxine V. Johnson Memorial Fund in care of the First National Bank, Waupaca. Funds to be distributed to either the Waupaca County Humane Society or Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church.
