Hello Lud, Joanna and Greg, Diane and John, Dale and Joni. May God bless you all in a specific way today (February 11,2021) is my prayer for each of you. I remember the several times I visited Bethel in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, while I was a student at North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. Maxine was always so friendly to me, Lud too. Their children too. I always felt welcomed at their church. I am blessed to have known this family and spouses which are each the finest and the best people I have ever met. Maxine knew how to make a house a home. How greatly she is admired, especially by me. Percy Kallevig
"Mrs. Lud" will remain a living legend with all who valued world missions by investing in Light For The Lost. For each of us who pastored missions-minded church boards and parishioners, Maxine and Lud were emissaries of heaven making annual visits to invite everyone to answer the call from the Lord of the Harvest.
Maxine was my roommate our freshman year at North Central. Lots of fun memories then and over the years at 50s Camp, etc. Will miss her but look forward to seeing her again. - Dorothy & Bob Groshong

It is with great sadness that I reach out to you. Your mother was a treasure! I fondly remember her beautiful smile, her laugh and her sense of fun. She was such a welcoming presence to all of us young people. There is coming a day when all those who adore Jesus will be Home together. What an amazingly perfect day that will be. But for today there are those of us who still remain. We are not Home yet. Were it not for the promise of Home our hearts would not be able to withstand the chapters of grief that follow the final earthly goodbye. Your mother left her gentle mark on countless lives, mine included. I will hold you and your darling dad in my heart and prayers in the days, weeks and months ahead as you journey through life without your precious mom. The Oquists are special people to us Johnsons. Maxine was a Great Friend and neighbor to us when we lived by Spencer lake! She always had the coffee pot on and loved to share her faith with a cup.You could see the love of the Lord in her friendly smile. We will all miss you Maxine but we know you are enjoying you new life in heaven! Till we meet again!
