Maxine Schwamb's Obituary
Maxine Ida Schwamb, (nee Oechsner), went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2006, at the age of 80, after suffering from heart failure. She was surrounded by her family. Maxine was born March 9, 1925, and she and her husband, Franklin, raised their family in West Bend, WI. Maxine formerly was employed at Amity Leather and B.C. Ziegler, both in West Bend. In 1988, they moved to Waupaca, WI after retirement She will be remembered as having a humble, loving, compassionate, and generous spirit. She enjoyed camping and nature, especially birds. She was an avid reader and card player. She also enjoyed volunteering. Maxine loved the Lord and started each day in His Word. She is survived by her “bestest friend”, her loving husband of 57 years, Franklin H. Schwamb, and her children: Mary Beth Seiser of West Bend, Donald Schwamb of Milwaukee, Sue (Steven) Theyerl of Fond du Lac, Joan (Gary) Lato of Waukesha, and Julie (Eric) Feil of Appleton, eight grandchildren: Robert (Patricia Toledo) Seiser of Schaumburg, IL, Ann Seiser of Madison, Bethany, Kristin, and Daniel Lato, and Halley, Justin, and Jacob Feil. She is further survived by two sisters: Beatrice Liegl, and Mary Ellen (Don) Lloyd, three sisters-in-law: Pearl Oechsner, Jeannette Oechsner, Virginia (Elroy) Borchert, and brother-in-law: Harold Schwamb. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Michael Seiser, her parents: Linus and Lucy (Schraufnagel) Oechsner, parents-in-law: Frederick and Anita Schwamb, two brothers: Hubert Oechsner and Russell Oechsner, two sisters: Betty Byrnes and Gertrude Oechsner, brothers-in-law: Adolf Liegl, Robert Byrnes, Leo McArdle, and Howard Gilbert, a sister-in-law: Ruthe Schwamb, and two nephews. Her family wants to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, and especially her physician: Dr. Earl Anderson, who provided her with loving care. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI, (N2845 Shadow Road) on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Father John Becker, Presider. Inurnment of cremains will be in the Washington County Memorial Park near West Bend, WI at a later date. Friends may call at the church in Waupaca on Friday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, or the American Heart Association. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
