Michael P. Green's Obituary
Michael Peter Green, age 73, died suddenly on September 22, 2022 at his home in Waupaca, WI. He was born to William and Esther Green on December 15, 1948 in Oshkosh, WI.
Mike was a man who greatly loved his family and was blessed with many wonderful friends. He knew no stranger and was always there when you needed him. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He enjoyed adventures, travel with his wife, Bonnie, taking the road less traveled and getting lost, which he did frequently. Mike had so many talents but was always humble about his accomplishments. He built his own garage and deck, and was a handyman who could fix anything. He completed every project he started and it was done right. Anyone who knew Mike was aware of his organizational skills. His motto was always “Continuous Improvement”. His pegboards were the envy of the neighborhood! Mike had a beautiful tenor voice and loved singing. He performed with the Waupaca Community Choir for two seasons and so enjoyed this experience. He loved all kinds of music but enjoyed listening to Polka music on the way to church on Sunday mornings – he said it just made him happy. He was also a country music fan and did a little line dancing in his younger years. Mike had a great love for the out-of-doors and loved camping, hiking, biking, kayaking and building beautiful campfires. He particularly liked visiting Wisconsin state parks and was very happy to live only a mile from Hartman Creek State Park. Mike volunteered at the Veterans Home in King, WI, for two years, cleaning and inspecting wheelchairs and also delivering groceries to the members. He worked for Oshkosh Truck for 37 years –building Airport, Fire & Rescue crash trucks and as a facilitator, inspecting parts for military vehicles.
He was blessed to have spent 39 years with his late wife, Linda (Freiberg) Green. They had a wonderful life together raising their son, Christopher, until her passing in 2009. Christopher (Caroline) Green, live in Charleston, WV. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie S. Green, sisters, Linda (Wally) Kroll and Peggy Green (Gene Gilbertson), all of Waupaca. He is also survived by brothers and sisters living in Australia; Peter (Deanne) Green, John (Adrina) Green, Paul (Sharon Harper) Green, Ellen (Michael) Schuhart, Mary Jo (Neville) Hoadley.
