Michael W. Green's Obituary
Michael W. Green, 79, Town of Belmont, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born in Waupaca on October 7, 1946, son of the late Laurence and Delia Magdalene (Clark) Green.
Mike grew up on the Green family farm in the Town of Belmont and attended Almond school. The family relocated to Waupaca, and later Tucson, Arizona, during in his Mike’s high school years. Mike graduated from Amphitheater High School, Tucson, Arizona in 1965.
After high school Mike enlisted in the United States Army, trained as a paratrooper, and served in Panama for two years, and in the Army reserves after returning to Arizona. Mike studied poetry and philosophy at the University of Arizona and Pima College while working a fulltime job in sales. Mike also met his future wife, Patricia Copeland during this time. They wed in Tucson on August 23, 1969.
A few years after their marriage, Pat and Mike relocated to Wisconsin, bought an old farmhouse, and spent several decades making renovations themselves. They had two children, Stacy and Suzanne.
Although Mike had various jobs, he preferred being a farmer. He loved being outdoors, gardening, reading, and would happily debate politics with anyone who was willing. Mike loved spending time with his family, who will miss him dearly.
Michael is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Copeland); son Stacy (Tara) Green and daughter Suzanne Green; grandsons Kyle Smith and Ethan Green; sisters Nancy (Erv) Kayhart, Vicki (Don) Walther, brothers Patrick (Jo) Green, Randall (Janice) Green, Kevin (Robyn) Green; cousins Syd (Jean) Clark and Leah Woods; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Laurence and Delia; siblings Laurence Jr., Verlayne, Thomas, and Gary; cousin Arletta Bates; and family friend Janet Case.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at A.J. Holly and Sons Funeral Home, 526 S. Main St, Waupaca, WI 54981. Visitation begins at 12 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Following the service, food and refreshments will be served at Pat and Mike’s home in the Town of Belmont. All are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating Mike.
