Michael "Pigger" Guthu's Obituary
Michael "Mike" "Pigger" Guthu, age 61 of Amherst passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born on December 8, 1961; son of Leonard Guthu and Karin Meronek in Waukegan, IL. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, birds, reading and was a hard masonry worker. Mike was a member of Club Orlow where he enjoyed having a cold Budweiser while hanging with his friends, and giving wonderful back massages.
Mike is survived by his mother Karin (Darrell) Meronek of Amherst, WI; father Leonard (Caroline) of Waupaca, WI; brother Mark Guthu of Waupaca, WI; nephew Brandon (Colby McCormick) McCormick-Guthu of Iola, WI; niece Nicole (Michael Anderson) Guthu-Anderson of Coolidge, AZ; great nephews Taylan McCormick of Iola, WI; Keegan McCormick of Iola, WI; great niece Mila McCormick of Iola, WI; also many other relatives and friends. Mike is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ben and Irene Guthu.
Per Mike's wishes, no services will be held at this time. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Tim and Sue Pederson, Tom and Angel Stubinski, Joe "Smokin Joe" Jacobson, and Marina Bacon for all their love and support.
