Myra Hanson's Obituary
Myra Mae Hanson, age 80, of Fremont, WI , passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 as she entered into her Heavenly Father's arms. Her loving presence will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Myra was born May 4, 1925 to Edmund and Mabel Stumpner in the Township of Leon. Myra was a graduate of Berlin High School. She married Martin L. Hanson on January 30, 1943 and made their home and farmed outside of Tustin. It was there they raised their family. Myra drove school bus for many years. She also worked on the farm, was a housewife and mother. She loved her gardens and was an excellent cook. She was an active member of Waushara County Homemakers to present. She was a member of the Womens Circle through her church at First English Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. Her faith was her life and it gave her the strength to live with her painful and crippling arthritis. Her faith was an inspiration to us all. She loved her children and grandchildren and spent many happy times with them. She made her home a center of activity and a place where everyone was welcome. Myra enjoyed her flowers and the many birds she fed and watched everyday. She also enjoyed sewing quilts for her church's missions. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her many cats. She is survived by one sister: Marjorie Hansen of Pine River and three children: Daniel Hanson (significiant partner, Ruthann Bucholtz) of Fremont, Ruth Nehring of Clintonville and Deborah (Robert) Gruen of Green Bay, grandchildren are Amy Rose (Randy) Elsner of Manawa and Andrea and Tyler Gruen of Green Bay, great-grandchildren are Michayla and Jacob Elsner of Manawa, step-grandchildren are Kim Hulse (Aaron and Kyle) of Menasha and Steve Nehring of New London, Robert (Kathy) Nehring (Luke and Joey) of New London. Myra is preceded in death by her husband, Martin, her brother, Howard Stumpner of Berlin, her parents, Edmund and Mabel Stumpner. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3 at 11:00 AM at 1st Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi with Rev. David Sielaff officiating. Burial will take place at Poy Sippi Cemetery, Town of Poy Sippi. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 - 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and Friday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church.
