Myrna R. Bohm's Obituary
Myrna Bohm, age 94 of Amherst Jct., WI passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was a resident of Amherst Junction for most of her life. Myrna was born in Stevens Point, WI on February 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Melgreen) Dean. She was the fourth in a family of nine children. Her childhood was in the Dancy area near the DuBay Dam on the Wisconsin River.
On November 8, 1947, she married Ernest Bohm in Junction City, WI. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2003. Myrna was partners with Ernest in raising three sons, building a home, and being a partner in Ernie’s Body Shop in Amherst Jct. They enjoyed spending their retirement winters in Sebring, FL., and special fishing trips to Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Myrna was an active member of the Stevens Point Church of Christ, and most recently the Waupaca Church of Christ. She volunteered many summers as counselor, teacher and cook at Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp; serving into her 80’s. She was a member of the Amherst Jct. Women’s Club for 50 years and she volunteered for RSVP and Operation Bootstrap in Stevens Point. She was an avid reader, but enjoyed most of all, her visits with her children, grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and friends she had made through the church, organizations, and her and Ernie’s fishing trips.
Myrna is survived by her three sons, Roy (Julie) Bohm of Amherst Jct., Gerold (Jane) Bohm of Amherst, Michael Bohm of Scandinavia; grandchildren, Eric (Ashley) Bohm, Danielle (David Sr.) Layton, Alan (Audrey) Bohm, Matthew Bohm, Wyatt (Beth) Bohm, Katie (Jeff) Spenner; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Roger (Rachel) Dean of Mosinee, Russell (Nancy) Dean of Sheboygan, and Janice Catlin of Stevens Point, and many nieces and nephews.
Myrna will always be remembered as a wonderful Christian woman who loved her husband and her family dearly. She put herself second and lived to serve others.
