Myron (Mike) Harrington's Obituary
Myron (Mike) H Harrington, age 78, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, October 29th, 2006 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Waupaca on October 10, 1928, the son of the late Myron H and Sarah (Wilson) Harrington. On May 29, 1954, he married Violet Olson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Mike was a graduate of Waupaca High School in 1947. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Waupaca Conservation Club and VFW Post #1037. He served in the US Army from 1950-1952 and was in the Army Reserves. He was employed at Western Electric Company for 30 years and retired in 1983. He worked as a dispatcher/jailer at Waupaca County Sheriff's Department from 1983-1993. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, camping, winters in Texas, time in his workshop, cutting wood, working with his backhoe, gun club, reading and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Violet, Waupaca; sons, Kent (Theresa) Harrington, Waupaca, Kurt (Pamela) Harrington, Iola, and Mark (Susan) Harrington, Waupaca; a daughter, Susan (Michael Fairbairn) Harrington, Lafayette, CO; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Jody Hetzel) Harrington, Oshkosh, Jason (Nicole) Harrington, Montgomery, Ill, Ashley & Eric Harrington, Iola, Angela, Christen & Anya Harrington, Waupaca; two step grandchildren, Gregg Howell, Waupaca and Jessica Harrington, Oshkosh; one great grandchild, Hannah Hetzel, Oshkosh; two sisters, Marie Zickus, Sturtevant, and Helen Johnson, Waupaca; sisters & brothers-in-law, Richard & Phyllis Olson, Madison, Robert & Anita Olson, Muscatine, IA, Judy Olson, East Lansing, MI and Nancy & Doug Dupont, Oregon, WI. Nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father, George Redmann; father & mother-in-law, Leonard & Hilma Olson; brothers-in-law, Louis Zickus and David C Johnson. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, November 2nd, with Reverend Dr. Charles Tews officiating. Visitation will be held on Wed, Nov 1, from 6-9 P.M. at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca.
