Myrtle Hopkins' Obituary
Myrtle I. Hopkins, age 92, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Monday, January 16th, 2012 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born in Iola, WI, on May 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Morgan and Inga (Dahlen) Torbenson. Myrtle married Gerald M Hopkins on August 18, 1948 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1995. Myrtle was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. She owned and operated Myrt's Beauty Salon in downtown Waupaca for many years. Survivors include a Nephew: Jim (Barb) Rasmussen, Iola, WI; Niece: Mary Rasmussen, Iola, WI; ; Great Nephew: Nick (Fiancée-Angie Schmidt) Rasmussen, Iola, WI; Great Great Nephew: Pierce Rasmussen, Iola, WI. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death a sister - Arvada Rasmussen. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca at 11 AM on Friday, January 20th, 2012, with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.
