Myrtle Sonju's Obituary
MYRTLE M. SONJU
BERLIN, WISCONSIN Age 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Juliette Manor in Berlin, WI. She was born March 5, 1917 in Washburn, WI; daughter of Lauren and Flora (Blise) Porter. On October 17, 1937, Myrtle married Amor Sonju in Milwaukee, WI. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1965. Myrtle and Amor owned a dairy farm in Pine River. Also, they ran a farm market where all of the vegetables and strawberries were grown on their farm. After Amor died, Myrtle went back to school and received her teaching degree. She taught developmentally disabled children at Wild Rose, WI. Myrtle enjoyed crocheting, doing ceramics, oil painting, and gardening. She always had a beautiful flower garden! Myrtle was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, WI. Myrtle is survived by:

Son-in-law: Delbert Johannes of Berlin, WI

Special Friends: Ron and Karen Neuman of Pine River, WI She was preceded in death by her parents, Lauren and Flora Porter; husband, Amor Sonju; daughter, Eileen; son, Lee; a great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Clarence Porter and Clyde Porter; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen (Carl) Bayer and Ruth (Adam) Biner. A Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, WI. Reverend Peter Quello will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Poy Sippi Cemetery following the service on Monday.
