Neil W. Hanson's Obituary
Neil William Hanson, 86, Pine River, passed away Sunday, August 4th. He was born July 30, 1927 in the Town of Saxeville, son of William and Della (Jensen) Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Poy Sippi. Neil attended grade school at the one-room Glendale School. After eighth grade graduation, he helped his older brother and father with the family farm. Other jobs included driving milk truck, working part-time at Ward Kissinger’s sawmill, and farmhand in various locations before owning his own dairy farm. Neil married Karen R. Pope on July 30, 1960 at the Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind, Waupaca, WI. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 2003. Neil is survived by 2 sons: Roger (Marla) Hanson of Deer Lodge, Montana, Gerald (Linda) Hanson of Waupaca, and 1 daughter Michelle (Scott) Kasuboski of Pine River; grandchildren: Jacob Hanson of Deer Lodge, Montana, Caleb, Jasmine, Isaac, and Colten Hanson of Waupaca, and Tyler, Brett, and Marcus Kasuboski of Pine River; one sister Shirley (Kermit) Jorgensen of Wild Rose, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Neil was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Martin, Clayton, and Calvin, and 1 sister Margaret Nitzke. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9th at 11 a.m. at Emmaus Lutheran Church on Cty Rd A in the Town of Lind, Waupaca with Pastor William E. Meier officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 8th from 4-7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
