Nona Beth Schroeder's Obituary
Nona Beth Schroeder, age 77, passed away on Friday October 12, 2012 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin.
Nona was born June 18, 1935 in Princeton to Louis and Mabel (Dreblow) Schroeder. After graduating from High School Nona served in the Navy and worked as a stenographer during the Korean Conflict. Following her service in the Navy, Nona moved to Chicago and worked as a secretary for Bethlehem Steel and later for Macy's Department Store.
In 1968 Nona moved to Fond du Lac and became the caregiver for her nephews Tom and Ted Schroeder. While living in Fond du Lac Nona was a member of St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 2003 Nona moved to King where she was active in the Red Hat Society, Bible Study and attended many of the other activities and functions offered to the residents. She especially enjoyed her shopping trips to Waupaca. Nona was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mabel, her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Francis Kurkowski, brothers and sister-in-laws Thomas and Nancy Schroeder, Richard and Beverly Schroeder, and her nephew Theodore Schroeder. Nona will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Nona will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Ainsworth Hall Chapel in King, WI . The Reverend Wayne Schwanke will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the Chapel from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will be at Memory Hills Cemetery in Princeton, WI. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization. The family would like to thank the staff at Ainsworth Hall for the years of loving care provided to Nona , Dr Ellen Wenberg for her care and compassion, and Pastors Wayne Schwanke and Fred Tappe for their kindness and prayers during Nona's final days Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements..
