Norbert J. Kolz's Obituary
Norbert J. Kolz, age 78, of Waupaca, finished his journey here on earth on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Theda Clark Medical Center after a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born in the Town of Lanark, Portage County on September 25, 1934, the son of the late Bert and Helen (McTigue) Kolz. Norbert graduated from Amherst High School. He served his country in the US Army from October 1954 - September 1956. After returning from service he held a number of jobs before joining Waupaca Foundry where he worked for 25 years before retiring. Norb loved trout fishing, polka dancing, and Friday night fish fry. He found joy in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and had a sense of humor that endured to his last days. Norb truly had a gift for making people smile.
Norbert is survived by his wife of 33 years Eileen, two sons Bert (Beth) Kolz, Middleton; Dallas (Carrie) Kolz, Weyauwega; four daughters Carmen Kolz, Dayton, OH; Connie Kolz, Waupaca; Cheri (Paul) Kuske, Lakewood; Kris Porter, Weyauwega; one step-son Dale (Diane) Jorgenson, Waupaca; one step-daughter Debbie (Andy) Anderson, Waupaca; 15 grandchildren Madelyn and Meredith Kolz; Josh and Alexis Kolz; Stephanie Kolz; Kory and Kyle (Codi) Howard; Nicholas Kolz and Noah and Caleb Porter; Summer, Luis and Sandra Jorgenson; Jeremy Anderson and Angie (Tim) Huebner; and four great-grandchildren Jessica Kolz; Sophie Howard, Brock and Brianna Huebner; one sister Kathleen (Nolan (Fritz) Schmoldt, Phoenix, AZ. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Norb was preceded in death by his parents. The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Father Paul Vanden Hogan, officiating. Burial with Military Rites will take place at the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
