Norman M. Eiden's Obituary
Norman M. Eiden, age 52 of Amherst Junction, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on February 11, 2023.
Norm was born April 12, 1970, son of Albert and Mary Ann (Bembenek) Eiden, in Stevens Point, WI. He graduated from the Stevens Point Area Senior High School in 1988. He continued his education at Mid-State Technical College studying as an electrician and eventually earning his credentials as a Master Electrician. He was currently employed at Portage County as a Maintenance Technician Specialist - Electrician. Prior employers include Lind Electric and E-Con Electric.
Norm enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending time with family and spoiling his nieces and nephews. He took the time for important things in life like morning coffee with his parents, walking in the woods, and recognizing and enjoying the beauty and peace that he found in nature. He enjoyed sharing his many talents to educate his nieces and nephews, from maintenance work and the skilled trades to hunting and other outdoor work and recreation. Some of his favorite things were being home with family, celebrating the holidays, caring for the earth, working food plots, hunting, tapping trees and making maple syrup, and his new found hobby of wine making.
Norm was a fantastic story-teller with a quick wit and dry sense of humor that often-left others doing a double take or shaking their head. But most often, left us smiling and laughing, not only at the experiences he was talking about but the way that he could tell the story.
Norm is survived by his parents Albert and Mary Ann Eiden of Custer, Siblings: Todd (Corinna) Eiden of DePere; Sara (Larry) Raikowski of Junction City; Jane Iwanski of Stevens Point; Faye Ellis of La Crosse and Clint (Jess) Eiden of Madison. Norm loved his nieces and nephews: Michaela (Taylor) Olp, Colin Iwanski, Serena (Joseph) Firkus, Alexis (Isaiah) Zdroik, Jarret Ellis, Noah Ellis, Conner Eiden and Keira Eiden.
Norm was preceded in death by his grandparents: Victor and Martha Bembenek, Adolph and Hattie Eiden, his brother-in-law Marvin Iwanski, nieces Zoe and Martha Eiden, his best friend Scott Eiden of Rosholt, and many beloved uncles and aunts.

Norm, you impacted many people in your short life, and will be missed very dearly. Your humor and laughter were contagious and brought smiles to those you were with. You were a good man, steadfast in your beliefs and truly living your faith. Your faith could be seen and felt by others, and this week, that same faith brought you home.
Norman, with your love of artist Terry Redlin in mind, may the “morning glow” around you, may beautiful “spacious skies” surround you, and may you walk in “amber waves of grain”. May you find peace as you enter your heavenly home, and until we meet again, we will savor the “sweet memories”.
While you were taken too early for us to accept, in time our paths will cross once again. And when that time comes it will be “Wonderful”.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
The family would like to thank the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin DNR and other First Responders that responded and assisted the family.
