Norman McNew (KB9QL)'s Obituary
Norman H. (KB9QL) McNew, age 76, of Almond, passed away on Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at Crossroads Care Center at Crystal River in Waupaca. He was born in Milwaukee, on September 3, 1941, a son of the late Henry and Anna (Simon) McNew.
He married Sharon Quandt on June 6, 1964 in Milwaukee. Norm worked at A.O. Smith in Milwaukee for 35 years. He was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Norm was a member of the Republican Party, Knights of Columbus, Waupaca Aries Club, Miller Valley Radio Club, Chain O' Lakes Conservation Club and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was also a member and volunteer examiner for ARRL, 5YI, MRAC.
He is survived by his Wife: Sharon McNew, Almond, WI and his Dog: Lillie. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is further survived by numerous friends and other relatives.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 State Hwy 54 Between Plover & Waupaca, Town of Buena Vista, at 11 AM on Friday, March 9th, 2018, with Father Peter Manickam and Father Ted Lewandowski, officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Town Lanark, Portage Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or the Portage Co. Humane Society.
