Ora May Gibson's Obituary
Ora May Gibson, age 88, of Milwaukee passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. Ora May was born in Saint Louis,MO on May 3, 1921, the daughter of the late William O. and Flossie A.(Smith) Fuller. Ora May served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sgt during WW II. She was proud to have been a member of the 1st class of women graduating from the USMC boot camp held then at Hunter College NYC, NY. After military service, she became a wife, mother, nurse and grandmother. Ora May is survived by a son: Alan Gibson, Davenport, IA; her daughter: Marcia (Jerry) Gruenhagen, Green Bay, WI; her grandchildren: Rebecca Anne Spilker, Green Bay, WI; Mark Andrew Spilker, Gresham, OR and her dear friend: Carol Miller, Milwaukee, WI. A Private Family Service will be on Monday, May 18 at 11 AM at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel, King, WI with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Military Graveside Services will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Ora May's family wishes to thank the staff of both the VA Hospital and Nursing Home for the wonderful care given their mother.
