OTIS L. HOGREFE
PLAINFIELD, WI Age 82 – died on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on March 20, 1924 in Almond, WI, a son of the late Herman and Florence (Galland) Hogrefe. He married Shirley Firkus on June 28, 1988 in Stevens Point, WI. Otis is survived by two sons: Clarence Hogrefe (Fiancée Jan) of Placerville, CA, and Richard (Diane) Hogrefe of Santa Rosa, CA, step-children: Pamela (Robert) Deuman, Dale Lorenz (Fiancée Vicki Hall), Gilbert (April) Lorenz, William Lorenz, Joleen Lorenz, Roy (Mira) Melcher, Mark Fields, Tim Fields, and Tom (Kathy) Fields, two granddaughters: Cassie and Carrie, two great granddaughters, and a number of step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Otis had been a janitor working for the Portage County Highway Department for a number of years. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 339 – Almond, WI. He was also a member of the American Legion 40/8, and the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and working on small engines. Otis also enjoyed playing the saxophone. A funeral service will be held at the Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond, WI on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Father Dan Farley – St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, officiating. Military Rites will be conducted following the funeral service. Interment will be in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery, Township of Almond, Portage County, WI. Friends may call at the Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond, WI on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the name of Otis L. Hogrefe. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
