Ovella Esther Clara Everson
Pine River, WI Age 95 – died on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her residence. She was born on February 18, 1913 in Manitowoc, WI, a daughter of Edwin and Ida (Riemer) Behnke. She married Elmer C. Everson on December 17, 1932 in Waupaca, WI. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1971. Ovella is survived by her children; Lloyd (Genevieve) Everson of Pine River and their children; Douglas, Karen, Joan, Judy, and Dennis, James (LaVonne) Everson of Pine River and his children; Brian, Bradley, and Bethany, Thomas (Karen) Everson of DeForest and their children; Thad and Amy, and Jane (Hugh) Jones of Wild Rose and their children; Aaron, Adam, Andrew, and Anna. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers; Leslie Behnke and Roy (Carla) Behnke, and two sisters; Ruby (Arlyn) Olmsted and Audrey Arndt, all of Clintonville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Elmer, two grandchildren; Bruce and Abigail, and a sister; RoseMarie Hanson. Ovella had been the co/owner and bookkeeper of the Brushville Cheese Factory for 42 years. She and Elmer had been members of the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association. Ovella was a very active member of the Emmaus Ev. Lutheran Church of Poy Sippi. She had served on the church council for many years and had been treasurer of the church council. She had been a member of the LWML at her church. She also enjoyed quilting with the ladies of her church. She had been active with the Kitchen Katie’s Homemakers. She had volunteered her time at the Second Time Around store in Berlin. She was an avid gardener and she also enjoyed bowling. A funeral service will be held at the Emmaus Ev. Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, WI on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 7:00 PM, with the Reverend William Meier, officiating. A private burial service will be held on Wednesday at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Amherst, WI. Friends may call at the church in Poy Sippi on Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Ovella Everson. The Holly Funeral Home of Poy Sippi, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
