PAUL J. CIGLER
KING, WI (FORMERLY OF MANITOWOC, WI) Age 82 – died on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI. He was born on January 25, 1925 in Cooperstown, WI, a son of the late Emil and Frances (Slectka) Cigler. He married Maryon Lintereur in October of 1948 in Two Rivers, WI. She preceded him in death. Paul is survived by a daughter: Ellen Dawson of Joliet, IL, four sons: Thomas (Patty) Cigler of Sturgeon Bay, Timothy (Marge) Cigler of Sturgeon Bay, Paul Cigler, Jr. of Appleton, and Andrew Cigler of Portland, OR, nine grandchildren: Rachel, Emily, Zeke, Dylan, Miles, Tess, Rebecca, Jennifer, and Royal, seven great grandchildren, a brother: John Cigler of Manitowoc, and a sister: Beatrice Wachtel of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his wife: Maryon, his parents, two brothers: Emil and Jerry, and a sister: Agnes Bauman. Paul retired from Manitowoc Engineering as a maintenance supervisor. He had been employed with the company for 44 years. Paul had served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He had served with the 90th Infantry Division and fought in the D-Day invasion of France. He was injured during the invasion. He was decorated with the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Paul was a proud and active member of the Democratic Party. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved a good game of Sheepshead. Paul had become a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King in November of 2005. At Paul’s request, no memorial service will be held. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
