Paul S. Camacho's Obituary
Paul S. Camacho, age 88, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI formally of Wisconsin Rapids and Lyndon Station was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 4 2010 but will forever live in our hearts and memories. Paul was born in San Luis Portosi, Mexico on August 17, 1922, the son of the late Antonio and Manuela (Zamora) Sustiata. A World War II veteran, Paul proudly served his country as a member of the 29th Infantry Division. Paul was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and the European Theater of Operations Medal with an Arrowhead for participating as a member of first assault wave on Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy. On May 17, 1952 Paul married Florence Wabshoggin in Mauston and they celebrated their 58th anniversary this year. Paul spent 25 years as Lead Custodian for the Wisconsin Dells School District retiring in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching baseball, telling stories and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years: Florence Camacho, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Sons: Fred (Joyce) Camacho; Peter (Lillian) Camacho; Robert Camacho; Daughter: Yvette (Paul) Lokotz; Grandchildren: Amber (Wayne) Malone; Amy (Steve) Kaehn; Dawn (Rick) Vick; Cody (Kari) Camacho; Aaron, Anna & Alexis Camacho; Great Grandchildren: Mareenah, Mycah, Dontae, Macie & Bree.; Great-Great Grandchildren: Leeam & Tarek and his brother: Richard Sustiata, Houston, TX. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and his son Paul S. Camacho Jr. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 9 at 1:30 PM at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel, King, WI with Reverend Martin Baur, officiating. Military Graveside Service will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. Visitation will be on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the Main Chapel. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
