Paul Von Gunten - age 69 - passed away on August 26, 2010 in the Township of Springwater, Waushara County, WI. He was born on December 31, 1940 in Tomah, WI, the son of Lloyd and Grace (Drowatzky) Von Gunten. Paul is survived by his mother, Grace Von Gunten of Waupaca, WI, sisters; Dolores (Richard) Juber of Ocala, FL, Susan (Thomas) Affayroux of Wild Rose, WI, and Laurie (Robert) Warrender of Bristol, WI, brothers; Rev. Richard (Nancy) Von Gunten of Camdenton, MO, Michael (Bonnie) Von Gunten of Bristol, WI, and Jeffrey Von Gunten of Iola, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd I. Von Gunten. Paul had been employed in the horse racing industry. He had held any number of positions through the years from a stable worker to a hot walker to a trainer. He had worked on horse farms all around the U.S. A memorial service will be held at the Bethany Home Chapel in Waupaca, WI on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Richard Von Gunten, officiating. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
