Pearl Abel's Obituary
Pearl C. Abel, age 84, of King, WI., passed away on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. She was born in Crandon, WI. on January 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles and Caroline (Kluge) Bessette. Pearl was born in a log cabin. She worked along with her mother and father in the logging camps as a cooks helper as a young girl. She married her life long love of her life, Arnold L. Abel on February 12, 1944. She waited for the return of her husband from the battle fields of W.W. II. Upon his return, their life started but changed direction again when Arnold had to once again go into service for the Korean War. After his return, they bought a 60 acre farm in the town of Center, north of Appleton. The farm was hard work, but the labor of love for both. Pearl and Arnold had three sons during that time and always thought that this was the best of all times. In 1970 they decided to sell a portion of the farm and build a new dream home by the large red oak tree that the whole family would marvel at every fall. Pearl and Arnold, after retirement would care for the many grandchildren much to their delight. They loved to travel and wintered in Texas to stay out of the winter snows. Our mother, grandmother and friend will be missed dearly. But we know that Pearl is reunited with Jesus in Heaven and once again with the love of her life, her husband. To the doctors, staff, care givers and all other at both the Veterans Home, AMC and Hospice, the family gives their gratitude for the kindness that you have given to our mother at this time of need. Thank you one and all. She is survived by 3 sons: Arnold (Debra) Abel, Waupaca, WI; Andrew Abel, Eagle River, WI; Alex (Bernice) Abel, Reedfield, WI; Grandchildren: Christopher (Becky) Abel; Jennifer (John) Weber; Luke Abel; Kelley Abel; Matthew Abel; Caroline Abel; Kyle Abel; Carmon Abel; Great Grandchildren: Hunter Abel; Austine Abel; Riley Abel; Alisha Abel; Ellie Weber; Step Grandchildren, Austin and Brianna.
