Philip H. Voights' Obituary
Mr. Philip H. Voights, age 85, of King, Wisconsin, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-MacArthur Hall, King, Wisconsin. Mr. Voights was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on December 12, 1922, he was the son of the late August and Flora Mae (Reichard) Voights. On Feb 1st, 1947, he married Kathryn J. Land in Kaukauna. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Kaukauna and Appleton. Phil served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a Lab Technician for Combined Locks Pulp and Paper Mill for over 38 years. Phil served as Union President for USW Local 2-0144 for 10 years. He enjoyed, fishing and camping trips with his family to California, New Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. He is survived by his Wife of 61 years; Kathryn Voights, Kaukauna; Daughters: Mary (Dick) Forseth, Waupaca; Linda (Keith) Riehl, Waupaca; Janette (Darnel) Laabs, Hortonville; Sons: Philip (Marysue) Voights Jr., Waupaca; Conrad Voights, Cloveis, New Mexico; David (Wendy) Voights, Kaukauna; Daniel (Betty) Voights, Austin, Texas; Sister: Leota Maisch, West Hills, California. He is also survived by Twenty One Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren. Philip was preceded in death by a Daughter: Barbara Kirce, Brothers: Herman & Paul Voights. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 16th, with Reverend Bob Bohn officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will be in the Spencer Lake Memorial Park in the Town Lind, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Saturday 9-11 A.M. at First Assembly of God Church. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Mac Arthur Hall #2 for the excellent care provided to Phil while he was a resident.
