Age 86 – passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital in Wild Rose. She was born on September 22, 1926 in Wild Rose, the daughter of Lester and Lucille (Evans) Merryfield. She married Glen Moldenhauer on May 24, 1947 in Wild Rose.
Phyllis is survived by her husband; Glen, her daughters; Susan (Ronald) Rietjens of Waukesha, Sheri (Mark) Jung of Whitewater, and Sandra (Kelly) Petrie of Waukesha, her son; Daniel (Jane) Moldenhauer of Waukesha, grandchildren; Shelley (Derek) Effert, Jennifer Rietjens, Andrew (Rebecca) Lang, Nathan Lang, Shawna (BJ) Strickland, Trevor (Katie) Laufenberg, Josh (Jessica) Laufenberg, Ashley Laufenberg, Joe Petrie, Wesley (Angie) Moldenhauer, Jason Moldenhauer, and 17 great grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers; Boyd Merryfield of Wautoma, Gerald (Ellen) Merryfield of Eau Claire, and Keith (Pat) Merryfield of AZ, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis had been a homemaker for most of her adult life. She was an active member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma, and had been a member of the former Crafty Ladies Homemakers Circle in Wautoma.
A funeral service will be held at the Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma, WI on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Nathan Gauerke, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in New Berlin, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
