Ralph J. Malo's Obituary
Ralph J. Malo, age 99, of Berlin, WI, passed away on Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 at Patriot Place in Berlin where he was a resident. He was born in Hammond, IN, on January 7, 1916, a son of the late James and Cora (Rimbach) Malo.
Ralph married Marie Benedict on June 10, 1938 in Crown Point, IN. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2009. Ralph worked for 26 years for the Hammond Fire Department in Indiana. He was hired on November 9, 1941 and retired on March 15, 1967. Through those years he worked as a Chauffeur, Lieutenant, Captain and Senior Captain. He started a second career at Calumet National Bank, working 10 years there. Ralph was a member of Poy Sippi United Methodist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Trustee. He also had been a 50 year member of Garfield F & AM Lodge #569 serving as a Master Mason. Ralph was also a 32nd Degree Mason member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend.
Survivors include his Daughter: Coralyn (Charles) Dine, Bradenton, FL; Son: Ralph James (Sue) Malo, Sr., Fond du Lac, WI; Four Grandchildren; One Step-Granddaughter; Six Great Grandchildren; Two Step-Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Marie, brother - Fred Malo, grandson - Ralph James Malo Jr. and a step grandson - Randy Schwebke.
Funeral Services will be held at Poy Sippi United Methodist Church in Poy Sippi, WI at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015, with Rev. George Groves, officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. A Masonic graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 9th at 11 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Memorials can be made to Agnesian Hospice Hope of Green Lake or Patriot Place of Berlin.
