Randy, in his generous nature, enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience by visiting many local schools and giving tours of the hatchery. He always cared a great deal for the children and the program. I appreciated him as a colleague and a friend.

I started to work with Randy in the early 90's & have many fond memories of our DNR days...chasing minnows for forage in Necedah, spawning Muskies on Long Lake, our Statewide meeting adventures; to name just a few.
I was always cherish the times we spent together deer hunting with my son & your Dad in Black River Falls.

We had the BEST times together at Grandma and Grandpa Teska's farm with Randy. Those were the days! Climbing fences, hanging out on the roof of the pump house, catching kitties in the barn, and learning about pollywogs and wildflowers from Grandma. Coral and Casey, I am so sorry he was taken from you way too soon. My deepest condolences to each of you.

Some of my favorite childhood memories include Randy. Walks down to the pond at grandma’s house looking for arrow heads along the stone fence. Playing football in the yard. Then, as adults, hanging out together with our mutual Auburndale friends, meeting for a drink at the 9th Hole. Aunt Coral and Casey, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Randy was one special cousin.

Randy was a good man and a great friend, the kind you could call and speak to about anything at anytime. He will be missed by all that knew him, worked with him and shared his love of life. There are so many fond memories that we will cherish the rest of our lives.

He is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

I had volunteered at the Wild Rose Hatchery in college for part of my schooling requirements and when I graduated, Randy was a reference for me in getting my first LTE gig at the fish hatchery in Lake Mills. At the last fisheries statewide meeting he attended, before he left he shook my hand and said "I'm outta here, I just wanted to shake your hand and wish you well in your career" and I am thankful for him taking a moment saying that, he was a good dude.

We are so very sorry for your loss. My kids and the rest of Trinity School looked forward to Randy’s annual visits where he would teach them about the hatchery. They would use their notes from the year before to win his pop quizzes. He shared so much knowledge with them.
