age 69 – died on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Madison, WI. He was born on July 31, 1941 in the Township of Lanark, Portage County, WI, the son of Arnold and Eva (Morgan) Borchert. He was married to Karen Madson on September 3, 1960 in Amherst, WI. They had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Randy is survived by his wife, Karen, children; Debby (Roy) Jorgensen of Athens, TN, Randy (Tammy) Borchert, Jr of Waupaca, Kristy (Christian) Nielsen of Waupaca, and Mark (Tina) Borchert of Almond, grandchildren; Matthew (Amy) Borchert, Aaron (Brandi) Jorgensen, Kemlynn Jorgensen, Andrea Hicks, Erica Fredrick, Desiree Borchert, Travis Borchert (Special Friend: Kailee), and Nicole Borchert, six great grandchildren, brothers; Maynard (Janice) Borchert of Kaukauna, Leonard Borchert of Waupaca, and Rolland Borchert (Special Friend: Evie) of Florida, and a sister; Diane (Jack) Pagel of Waupaca. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Randy was preceded in death by a son, Scott W. Borchert, his parents, a sister, Shirley Jansen, and two sisters-in-law, Dona Borchert and Darlene Borchert.
Randy is the owner of Randy’s Place in Sheridan. He was a real prankster and he always had a joke to tell, or some kind of remark that he was always ready to share. Randy loved being outdoors and had enjoyed hunting and mowing his ten acres of yard. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and giving them rides on his golf cart. Some of Randy’s other interests included playing darts, watching his pool teams play, listening to country music, and watching his favorite television programs. Randy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
A funeral service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Charles Tews, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, WI. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
Our family would like to extend a special heart-felt thank you to Leesa Handrich, Travis Borchert, and Kailee Hunt for all their care, love, and support during his hospital stay. We know Dad looked forward to seeing them each day and he appreciated the time he had with them, on days we couldn’t be with him.
