Raymond L. Walczak
Waupaca, WI (Formerly of Stevens Point, WI)
Age 83 – died peacefully on February 16, 2010 at his winter residence in Ocala, FL. He was under the loving care of the Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, and also Theda Care at Home Hospice while in Wisconsin. He was born in Stevens Point, WI on October 29, 1926 to Stanley and Adeline (Kobishop) Walczak, Sr.
He attended local schools and was a 1944 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in WW II. He married Elizabeth Ann Lewandowski on May 28, 1952 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point, WI. He was employed by Emmons Stationery and Office Supply Co. for 30 years. He then owned and operated Ray’s Business Machines until his retirement. He was a member of the Stevens Point American Legion Post #6, and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1170 in Stevens Point, WI.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, three sons; Thomas, Gerald, DDS (Karen), and James (Susan) Walczak, five daughters; Joan (George) Stillman, Cynthia (Jim Tomlin, spouse) Walczak, Lois (Thomas) Willford, Kathleen (Brian) Mason, and Andrea (special friend: Christopher Brownell) Walczak, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is further survived by three brothers; Richard, William (Ginger), and Frederick (Mary Ann) Walczak, and two sisters; Dorothy Riley and Madge (Roger) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Lorraine and Adeline, and four brothers; Stanley, Jr, Eugene, Kenneth, and Robert.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI, with Father Brian Belongia, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the name of Raymond L. Walczak. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
