Richard J. Westphal Sr.'s Obituary
Richard J. Westphal Sr., age 82, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Richard was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 7, 1926, the son of the late Fredrick and Augusta (Krog) Westphal. He worked for Chrysler Automotive as a Inventory Clerk for many years. On January 12, 1948, Richard married Helen Bergeim in Dallas, Texas and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2009. He is veteran of WW II. Richard is a member of UAW Local #75 and American Legion Post #331 of Shorewood. He is survived by his children: Richard J. Westphal Jr., Milwaukee, WI; Christopher Westphal, Milwaukee, WI; Joseph (Vera) Westphal, Wauwatosa, WI and Jeanne Kahn, Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Memorial Services will be at 11 AM Friday, Nov. 6 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel with Reverend Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Military Graveside Services will be in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of services.
