RICHARD L. “DICK” KORDUS
WILD ROSE, WI Known in the Wild Rose area as the Statue Man, died October 2, 2006 at the age of 78. Their former Wild Rose residence had been known as “Disney Corners”. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David. He is survived by his dearest wife and best friend of 54 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Adamski). He was the loving father of Donald (Jeanne) Kordus of Wind Lake, WI, and Douglas (Jennel) Kordus of Franklin, WI. He was the proud grandfather of Melissa, Daniel, Amy, Melanie, Jason, Jeremy, Jamie, and Kelly. He was the adored great grandfather of Kaylin and Alesandra. He was the fond brother-in-law of Frank (Dorothy) Borkowicz of Eagle River, WI. He is also survived by his extended family of Wild Rose, WI, the Harvey-Jones family. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the 440th Quarter Master Corps. He was a 30 year retiree of General Motors, retiring as the Chief of Security at the Oak Creek, WI location. He had been a past Scout leader for Pack 238 – St. Romans. He had also been a Wilson Park Little League Coach. Private services will be held at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI, at a later date. Serving the family is the Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI.
