Richard Lutz's Obituary
RICHARD E. LUTZ
AMHERST JCT., WISCONSIN Age 74, passed away at home on Friday, March 9, 2012 surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Ministry Hospice after a courageous 3 ½ month battle with kidney cancer. He was born August 14, 1937 in the Town of Amherst, WI; son of Leo and Florence (Pohl) Lutz. On May 16, 1959, Richard married Olivia Wolkenhauer at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett, WI. He was a dairy farmer in the Amherst area. Richard served as treasurer for the Town of Amherst and was a member of the Pure Milk Board. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and served in various positions at the church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Richard especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and attending all of his grandchildren’s various activities. He will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and many friends. Richard is survived by:

9 Grandchildren: Jed, Josh, & Chelsea Shulfer; Jake, Allie, & Jessie Hurt; and James Stokes, Jeff & Jordan Lutz
4 Great-Grandkids: Anakin, Rivalee, Jasper, & Joren Stokes

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Florence Lutz; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Alfred and Florence Wolkenhauer; two brothers-in-law, Ken Deibert and Bill Stabenow; and two nephews, Daryl Deibert and Norman Lutz. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI. Reverend John Schmidt will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, March 19, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and again on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Bickel Cemetery in the Town of Amherst following the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Richard E. Lutz.
