Richard J. Meyer's Obituary
Richard “Dick” J. Meyer, age 79 passed away peacefully at his home on Monday December 16, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1945 in Sheboygan, WI the son of Wilfred & Vera Meyer. Richard graduated Sheboygan North High school in 1964. Richard joined the Navy October 1964. Richard served aboard the U.S.S. Nicholas. Upon an honorable discharge from the Navy, Richard moved back to Sheboygan, WI and met the love of his life Judy Stevens. They were married December 20, 1975. Richard worked at Wigwam until he moved to Princeton, WI to work at Handcraft. Richard loved to tinker with electronics, building televisions, computers and even a robot. He loved golfing and watching baseball, especially talking about the Brewers. He was an active member and former commander of the Princeton VFW.
Richard is survived by his son Aaron (Jess) Meyer, three grandchildren Jacob (Rylee), Emma and Mara, a niece Bonnie (Mark) Mueller, two nephews Andrew (Jennifer) Neubauer and Craig (Melissa) Neubauer, a niece Heather Stevens. Many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his sister Janet, father Willfred and mother Vera.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Ben Kempfert will officiate with burial of cremains to follow at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday January 16, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
