Richard W. Smith, Sr.
Waupaca, WI
Age 65 – died on November 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1945 in Kenosha, WI, the son of Ralph J. and Lucille (Kessler) Smith. He married Marian I. Wagner on September 7, 1963 in Somers, WI.
Richard is survived by his wife, Marian, a daughter; Debra (Joseph) Pautsch of Horicon, two sons; Richard W. (Tina) Smith, Jr, and Edward (Paula) Smith, both of Weyauwega, grandchildren; Christine Heckel, Curtis Pautsch, Rebecca McCreary, Tracey Patenaude, Erica Smith, Rochelle Smith, Nicole Smith, Devin Smith, Alix Wigglesworth, Lexi Smith, Abby Wigglesworth, and Samantha Smith. He is also survived by six great grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters; Irene Campbell of Hillsboro, IL, and Alice Whittrock of Sturtevant, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Ralph Smith and Jim Smith, a sister; Betty Havron, and a nephew; Tommy Smith.
Richard had farmed for a number of years around the central Wisconsin area. Prior to farming he had been employed with the J.I. Case Company in Racine for about ten years, retiring as a superintendent. Richard enjoyed raising horses. He especially enjoyed the time he could spend with his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
