Richard Studley's Obituary
Richard Louis Studley b. 11/29/1929 in Oshkosh, WI d. 12/30/2008 in Waupaca, WI He was preceded in death by Parents Logan & June Studley and brothers Clayton Studley and his wife Audrey (Oshkosh, WI) and James Studley and his wife Carolyn (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) He is survived by his wife Diane Studley and sons Logan Studley (Waupaca, WI), Peter Studley and his wife Ann (Plainfield, WI) and Thomas Studley (Waupaca, WI). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a US Navy veteran and served on the battleship Mississippi during the Korean War. Always an entrepreneur, Dick owned a service station with his brother Clay, was a builder in Oshkosh, owned and operated Crestwood Campgrounds with his brother Jim and later owned and operated United Service Agency in Waupaca. In later years, one of Dick’s greatest joys was singing in Community Choir. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Waupaca Fine Arts Festival. Dick was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Waupaca. He served as Master of Waupaca Lodge twice and had a plural membership with Waverly Lodge #51 (Appleton, WI) and where he also served as Master. Brother Dick was especially proud that all 3 of his sons became Masons and each served at least once as Master of Waupaca Lodge. The Family would like to thank the Staff at Crystal River Rehabilitation Center. You all were wonderful! Visitation will be on Tuesday January 6th, 2009 at Holly funeral home in Waupaca from 4pm to 7pm. A Masonic Funeral Service will start at 7:00pm. He will be buried at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. “Soft and safe to thee, my Brother, be thy resting place! Farewell my Brother, Farewell!
