Richard Walker's Obituary
Richard E. Walker age 85 of Waupaca, died peacefully on Sunday November 15, 2009 at the Appleton Medical Center with family by his side. Richard was born on December 18, 1923 the son of John and Jesse (Collier) Walker. Richard met Josephine Costanza in the North Austin Lutheran Church choir and they married on December 18, 1949. He was initiated in the Mason Circle Lodge #938 in 1953. Born and raised in Chicago, he retired to “The Lake” near Waupaca with his wife Jo in 1983. He was a lunchtime Jazz pianist at Chez Marche Cafe, and a long-time member of the Waupaca Area Model Railroaders. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Josephine Walker of Waupaca, two sons Dave Walker of Santa Cruz, CA, and Deane (Darla) Walker of Grayslake, IL, one daughter Dawn (Jim) Laubsted of Naperville, IL, six grandchildren Dan Laubsted, Colin Walker, Alicia Laubsted, Morgan Walker, Logan Walker, and Ashley Laubsted.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jesse Walker, and two brothers Jack Walker and Marshall Walker.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 19, 2009 at 4 P.M. at the Radiant Fellowship Church 420 N Harrison in Waupaca, Pastor Bob Adams will officiate. A visitation will be held at church from 1 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Touch Ministry of Waupaca.
