Robert J. Ahrens' Obituary
Robert “Bob” J. Ahrens, age 63, of Wild Rose, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at home with his loved ones by his side. Bob was born May 19, 1955 in Merrill, WI to James and Lillian (Clevette) Ahrens. He moved to the Wild Rose area in 1976 and never left. Bob married Marie Knowles on September 23, 2000 at Mt. Morris Park and celebrated to the fullest at Pineland Park where they met each other and then made it their permanent home together.
Bob worked many years as a master electrician and mentored many up and coming apprentices. He enjoyed camping in Tomahawk with his beautiful wife, special times with his brother Brian, fishing, golfing, hunting season with his daughter and son, spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoying a frosty mug of beer with all his Wild Rose friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Ahrens of Wild Rose, WI; a daughter, Kim (Adam) Schoettler of Hortonville, WI; a son, Eric Ahrens of Stevens Point, WI; step-daughter, DeeDee (Tony) Kurth of Fond du Lac, WI; four grandchildren, Belle and Jax Schoettler, Justin and Jordan Schrank; a brother, Brian (Cindy) Ahrens of Tomahawk, WI; and two nephews, Jacob and Andy Ahrens.
We would like to thank all those that cared for him throughout his illness and those that supported the family through this difficult time. Thank you to his oncologist, all of the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital, and Agnesian Hospice, especially Pam and JoEllen.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI. Reverend Rick Engen will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home.
